Virginia Stevenson

Mrs. Virginia Ewilda Stevenson, age 76, of Elkin passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Southfork Senior Living in Winston-Salem. She was born on June 5, 1942 in Mercer County, WV to Julius and Fanny Pennington Stassin.

Mrs. Stevenson was a member of Grassy Creek United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Stevenson, sisters, Sue and Getrude; and brother, Matthew Stassin.

Survivors include; sons, James Stevenson of Tillery, NC, Dennis Stevenson of Elkin; daughters, Lois Norman and husband Joseph of State Road, Brenda Flynn and husband Allen of Lewisville, Vera Wilson and husband Lee of Equality, Alabama; brother, Bub Stassin of Bluefield, VA; several stepchildren, grandchildren; and great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Grassy Creek United Methodist Church Elkin with Rev. John Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
