Dixie Blanche Mccann

Mrs. Dixie “Blanche” McCann, age 88, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Willowbrook Rehab and Care Center.  Mrs. McCann was born September 15, 1929 in Wilkes County to George and Rosan Hayes Smith, Sr.

Mrs. McCann was a member of Shoaly Branch Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. McCann was preceded in death by her husband, Ray McCann; and brothers, George Smith, Harvey Smith, Frank Smith and Eugene Smith.

Survivors include: son, Jimmy McCann and wife Tabitha of Elkin; daughter, Nancy Lefler and husband Jeff of Elkin; brothers, David Smith and wife Wilma of Elkin and Bill Smith and wife Johnsie of Jonesville; sister, Mag Adams and husband Jim of Ocean Isle; and grandchildren, Autumn McCann Willey and husband Justin, Josh Yarboro and Dillon McCann.

A funeral service will be conducted Friday, March 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Shoaly Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Wood officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 – 2 p.m. at the church.
