Mrs. Bonnie Gail Blackburn, age 75, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Blackburn was born March 17, 1942 in Yadkin County to James Boyd and Elizabeth Powell Shepherd.

Bonnie was a retired home health CNA and attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers James Boyd ( J.B.) Shepherd Jr., and Bobby Dale Shepherd.

Survivors include: husband, Dean Blackburn of the home; one son Jason Blackburn and wife Nina of West Columbia, S.C.; a brother Jimmy Lee Shepherd of Parsonsburg Md.; a sister Margaret Shepherd Caudill and husband Winfrey of State Road; and one granddaughter Emma Grace Blackburn.

A memorial service for Mrs. Blackburn will be conducted Tuesday, January 23, at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel, with Dr. Danny Dodds officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
