Julia Carter

Ms. Julia Leigh Carter, age 48, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017.  Ms. Carter was born May 23, 1969 in Surry County to Harvey “Leamon” Carter and Doris Faye Harris.

Julia was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and a loving aunt to her niece and great nephews.  She enjoyed her pets and was a wonderful sitter, caregiver and babysitter.  Ms. Carter was preceded in death by her sister, Jacqueline Renee Carter.

Survivors include: parents, Leamon and Doris Carter of the home; sister, Jamie Maines and husband Mike of Boonville; niece, Kristin Kennedy and husband Charlie; and great nephews, Carter Kennedy, Bralyn Kennedy and Miles Kennedy.

A funeral service will be conducted Friday, December 1, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Charlie Kennedy and Mr. Keith Carter officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the church.
