Betty L. Church

Mrs. Betty L. Church, age 84, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016. She was born August 18, 1931 in Surry County.  Mrs. Church was a retired greeter from Wal-Mart in Elkin and was a member of Union Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, David Church; son, Dale Church; and brother, Parks McBride.

Survivors include: daughter, Sheila Benton of Elkin; sister, Ruby Mitchell of Elkin; grandsons, Paul Benton and his wife April and Luke Benton and his wife Eliza; great grandchildren, Brie Benton, Blake Benton, Jonathan Benton, Adelyne Benton, Jacob Benton, and Autumn Benton.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Dr. Wesley Smith and Pastor Luke Benton officiating. Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
