Mildred Edmonds Lawrence

Mrs. Mildred Spencer Edmonds Lawrence, age 86, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Chatham Nursing & Rehab Center. Mrs. Lawrence was born March 9, 1930 in Surry County to Rufus Samuel and Ada Kidd Edmonds.
Mrs. Lawrence was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Dobson.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Bud L. Lawrence; daughter, Lucy Wagoner; brother, Harlow Edmonds and son-in-law, Jack Carter.
Survivors include: her son, Sam Lee Lawrence of Elkin; daughter, Linda Carter and A. V. Cockerham of Elkin; brother, Gene Edmonds and wife Betty of Asheville; sisters, Magdalene Hayes of N. Wilkesboro, Eloise Wall and husband Royce of Elkin and Carol Snow and husband Jerry of Elkin; sister-in-law, Patty Edmonds of Dobson; grandchildren, Jacob Wagoner of Elkin and Jason Wagoner and wife MaryAnne of Hamptonville; great-grandchildren, Gatlin Wagoner, Jasper Wagoner and Stella Wagoner.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Johnny Blevins officiating. Burial will take place at Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
