Matthew Wayne Holbrook

Mr. Matthew Wayne Holbrook, age 52, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015. Mr. Holbrook was born July 28, 1962 in Surry County to Bonner and Lena Mae Collins Holbrook. Survivors include: his daughter, Heather Holbrook of Elkin; step-daughters, Amber Eleva of Yadkinville and Christina Hughes of Thurmond; brothers, Andy Holbrook of State Road, Sandy Holbrook of Thurmond and Scottie Holbrook and wife Retha of Elkin; sister, Lisa Holbrook of Hays; grandchildren, Kayla Hughes and Samantha Eleva. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Gid Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Royal officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the church.
