Mrs. Pauline H. Pardue, age 89, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Westwood Hills Nursing and Rehab. She was born September 23, 1923 in Wilkes County to Jesse Steve Hemric and Flora Almita Brown Hemric. Mrs. Pardue was a member of Little Elkin Baptist Church and was retired from Lucia and John Boy's BBQ. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Lytle C. Pardue; brothers, Archie Hemric, Harvey Hemric, Richard Hemric, and Fred Hemric; sisters, Letha Gray, Ruby Tilley, and Bertha Waddell; and son-in-law, Johnny A. Church. Survivors include: daughters, Judy Bauguess and her husband Zeno of Ronda and Juanita P. Church of Ronda; brother, Weaver Hemric and his wife Mildred of N. Wilkesboro; grandson, Todd J. Church; granddaughter, Anita B. Garris and her husband Scotty; great grandson, Matt Garris; 5 nieces and 18 nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Gwyn Anderson and her nephew Rev. Kermit Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Little Elkin Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. The family has requested flowers in lieu of food. The family of Pauline and Lytle Pardue would like to thank the staff of Westwood Hills Nursing and Rehab and Dr. Patrick Thakkar for the care and kindness shown to both parents during their sickness as well as Elkin Pediatric Adult and Pediatric Medicine and Dr. Stephen Walker for their earlier care.
