William Wesley Osborne

November 29, 1911 — February 7, 2007

Elkin Mr. William Wesley Osborne, age 95, of Johnson Ridge Road, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at Yadkin Nursing Center. Mr. Osborne was born November 29, 1911 in Surry County to Thurmond & Maggie Napier Osborne. Mr. Osborne was a member of Grassy Creek United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during WWII. He was a retired bellhop and was employed with several hotels in New York City. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kitty Michie Osborne; five brothers, Pat Osborne, Harvey Osborne, Mason Osborne, Cape Osborne, Lytle Osborne; a sister, Margie White. Survivors include: Several nieces and nephews including a special niece and nephew, who were his caregivers, Margaretha Bullen and Tommy Osborne both of Elkin. Funeral services will be held Saturday February 10, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Grassy Creek United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Jim Prichard. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. 2:00 p.m. at Grassy Creek United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Grassy Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
