Mrs. Aline Shamel Engel, 83, of 124 Argonne Road, Elkin, North Carolina, the widow of Ernst Engel, died Wednesday, January 24, 2007 in Knoxville, Tennessee at the home of her daughter, Judy Teasley. Mrs. Engel, a lifelong Democrat, was born in Forsyth County on October 18, 1923 to Ezra Timothy and Marguerite Hine Shamel. She graduated from Salem College and was a member of Bethabara Moravian Church. She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Leslie and husband, John Bruce of Scottsdale, AZ and Judy Teasley and husband Norman A. Teasley, Jr. of Knoxville, TN, eight grandchildren; Geoffrey Eisenstadt, Jonathan Eisenstadt, Tommy Eisenstadt, Matthew Eisenstadt, Norman Allan Teasley III, Tony Teasley, Brian Leslie and Steven Leslie, and eight great grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted Sunday, January 28th, 2007 at 3:00 pm in God's Acre of Bethabara Moravian Church by the Reverend Tripp May. The family will receive friends at Hodges Funeral Home, Elkin, North Carolina on Saturday, January 27th, 2007 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.
