Annie Pearl Bauguess

Mrs. Annie Pearl Settle Bauguess, age 86, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023 at the SECU Hospice Care Center in Yadkinville.

Mrs. Bauguess was born January 20, 1937 in Surry County to William Henry Settle and Naomi Layell Settle.  She was a member of Stoney Ridge Baptist Church. Mrs. Bauguess was employed for nine years with Hanes in Winston-Salem, 35 years with Chatham Manufacturing in Elkin, and six years with the Wilkes County school system cafeteria. She loved to garden and enjoyed reading the Bible and playing bingo.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bauguess was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Holland Click Bauguess; siblings, infant brother Settle, Ruby Settle Swaim Waddle, Silas Settle, Hazel Settle Byrd, Dwight Settle, Paul Settle, Hallie Settle Byrd Wooten, and Herbert Settle.

Survivors include: daughter, Rebecca Ann Bauguess Johnson and her husband Ronnie of Traphill; brother, Joe Settle of King; sister, Mabel Bridges and her husband Barnard of Sarasota, Florida; grandson, Christopher Bradley Johnson and his girlfriend Becca Spears; and great-granddaughter, Hadley Johnson.

A funeral service will be conducted Friday, March 10, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., at Stoney Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Welborn, Rev. Mike Osborne, and Rev. Rick Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
