Belva Lee Richardson, age 89, peacefully entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina.
Born November 17, 1935, in Wilkes County, NC, Belva was the daughter of the late Aldean Wiles and Beuna Casey Wiles. She was a woman of deep faith and devotion. Belva served her church as a beloved Sunday school teacher and choir director for many years, remaining active in her congregation as long as her health allowed.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her devoted husband, Henry W. Richardson. Belva is survived by her daughters, Sheila Welborn (husband Randy), Mitzi Hall (husband Robert), and Teresa Collins (husband Russell); her sister, Beatrice Simmons; and her grandchildren: Bridget Welborn, Heather Wilporne-Welborn, Caleb Vestal, Sabrina Cothren, Justin Richardson and 10 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service honoring Belva’s life will be held Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Wesley Smith officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens in State Road.
