Betty Ann Pickett

Mrs. Betty Ann Billings Pickett, age 79, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2026 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Betty was born July 28, 1946 to James and Virginia Ross Billings.

Mrs.Pickett was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing bingo and going anywhere for Charity events. Betty enjoyed being a grandmother and cooking big meals for her family, her specialty was spaghetti, green beans and banana pudding.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Oliver Pickett.

Survivors include her sons, Don Pickett and wife Deda and Jonathan Pickett and wife Angela; sisters, Wanda Waddell, Donna Billings and Mahala Nichols; grandchildren, Ike Winebarger and wife Danielle. Raechel Harris, Jacob Pickett and Brody Pickett; great-grandchildren, Thomas, Jack, Sophie and Raegan; best friend of 32 years, Liz “Boo” Winebarger, special cousin, Janice Ross, and special caregiver, Sandra Romero.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Whitley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Poplar Springs Baptist Church, 193 Fellowship Way, State Road, NC 28676.
