Carol Steele Andrews

Mrs. Carol Steele Andrews of Elkin, passed away, Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Wake Forest Baptist Atrium Health. Mrs. Andrews was born January 27, 1952 in Surry County to Jarvis Posey Lee and Marie Cockerham Steele.

Carol was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and served many years singing in the Choir and being involved with Women on Mission. She lived a life filled with adventures and friendship. Carol was always “all in”. Her legendary friends, “the Ya-Ya’s shared many good times with her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, William “Bill” Andrews.

Survivors include: her daughter, Spring Cave and husband Dale of Hamptonville, son, James Andrews and wife Catra of Durham; sisters, Marilyn Jones and husband Carl of Tampa, Florida and Linda Steele of the home; grandchildren, Danielle Cecil, Ryder Cecil, Evan Ayers, Jack Andrews and Ellie Andrews; great-grandchild, Aria; nephew, Will Jones and wife Michelle and great-nephew, Julian Jones. Carol loved big & wide, including so many cousins and friends too many to mention.

All services will be private.

The family would like thank Carol’s dear friend Judy who has been a constant for the past few weeks and Dr. Scott Everett and the entire team at Wake Forest Baptist Atrium Health for their love and wonderful care.
