Rev. Clyde Kenneth Jordan, age 96, of Roaring River, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.
Rev. Jordan was born, July 22, 1929, in Wilkes County to Joseph Luther and Alma Burchette Jordan.
Rev. Jordan was a member of Pleasant Home Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute, and was a pastor and farmer for over 60 years. He loved serving the Lord and his family.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Margaret Holcomb Jordan, his parents, brothers; Quentin Jordan, Clifford Jordan, and Charles Jordan, and a sister, Eileen Johnson.
Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Donna Jordan of Roaring River, daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Sam Groce of Stevenson, AL, and Dinah and Travis Chipman of Roaring River, grandchildren; Matthew Groce, Andrea and JW Ware, Megan and Jason Pruett, Jessica and David Timm, and Jacob Chipman, great-grandchildren; Austin Felts, Jordyn Whiteaker, Quentin Pruett, and Ava Timm, and great-great grandchildren; Hayden Felts and Addison Felts.
A visitation will be held Tuesday evening, September 9, 2025 from 6:00-8:00pm at Elkin Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 11:00am at Pleasant Home Baptist Church. He will lie-in-state one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
