Clyde Larry Moody

Mr. Clyde Larry  Moody, age, 61,  of State Road passed away Monday, June 12, 2023 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC.

Clyde was born June 29, 1961 in Wilkes County to Raymond Moody and Grace Burcham Moody.

He was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and retired from the NCDOT. Clyde was a long time member of the State Road Volunteer Fire Department and an avid outdoorsman. He also enjoyed farming.

In addition to his parents Clyde was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Moody; his father-in-law, Jesse Wood and sisters-in-law, Patricia Hemric and Linda Moody.

Survivors include: his wife of 43 years, Debra Wood Moody of the home; daughter, Tiffany Ann Hurd and husband Roger of Jonesville; brothers, Kenneth Moody of State Road, Benny Moody and wife Mitzi of State Road, Jimmy Moody and wife Anita of State Road; sisters, Evon Bowman and husband Leon of Ararat, Cathy Green and husband Dale of Ronda; grandchildren, Ava Scarlett Hurd, Stella Ann Hurd; brothers-in-law, Phill Caudill and companion Vickie Walker of N. Wilkesboro, Larry Caudill and wife Dee Dee of Canton, Mike Hemric of State Road and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dylan Cook officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC, 27017.
