Connie Olivia Howard Holbrook

Connie Olivia Howard Holbrook, 74, of Roaring River, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 7, surrounded by her family at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. She was born on August 2, 1951, to the late Clyde Howard and Grace Sechrist Howard.

Connie had a warm and gentle spirit. She loved animals, enjoyed traveling during her years working with the airlines, and found joy in flowers and tending to her flower gardens.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Connelly Howard, and her brothers‑in‑law, Dorman Ward and Joe K. Johnson.

She is survived by her sons, Brian Holbrook and Jeff Holbrook; her sisters, Hilda Ward, Lou Eva Johnson, and Gay Nell Howard and her husband, Melvin Wood; her sister‑in‑law, Donna Howard; and her granddaughter, Eden Holbrook, and her best friends, Gale and Dianne Holbrook. Connie is also remembered with love by many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 16, at 2 PM at Rachel Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted.
