Dallas Jerry Crouse

Mr. Dallas Jerry Crouse, 91, of Thurmond, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Wilkes County on November 17, 1934, he was the son of Dallas Jermone Crouse and Mary Cooper Crouse.

Jerry was a faithful member of Roaring Gap Baptist Church and was also a member of Traphill Masonic Lodge No. 483 A.F. & A. M. and the State Road Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Billings Crouse, and his brother, Jack Crouse.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sisters, Emma Ree Wiles of Traphill and Carolyn Martin of King; his nieces, Anita Hall and husband Eric, Sandra Brown and husband Dale, Mary Ann Casstevens and husband Dean, and Amanda Wagoner and husband Rodney; and his nephews, Monty Crouse and Dale Wiles.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2026, in the chapel of Elkin Funeral Service, with the Rev. Jerry Simmons, the Rev. Tyler Hall, and the Rev. Greg Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Roaring Gap Baptist Church Cemetery with Masonic Rites conducted by Traphill Masonic Lodge No. 483 A.F. & A.M. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Traphill Masonic Lodge No. 483 A.F. & A.M. or Mountain Valley Hospice.
