David Scott "Bubba" Shore passed away in Smyth County, Virginia, on July 3, 2026.
To know Bubba was to know someone with a big heart, a quick smile, and a willingness to help anyone in need. He was a faithful Christian who was a devoted husband, proud father and grandfather, loyal friend, and someone who loved deeply. Whether you knew him for years or had just met him, Bubba had a way of making you feel like family.
As a truck driver, Bubba spent countless hours on the road, but no matter where life took him, there was nothing he looked forward to more than coming home to his family. Bubbas proudest accomplishment was Bubbas Trucking Company. Home was where his heart was, and he cherished every chance to be back with the people and places that meant the most to him.
Bubba proudly served his community as a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical technician with the Troutdale Volunteer Fire Department. Helping others wasn't just something he did—it was simply who he was. He was always ready to lend a hand, answer a call, or stand beside someone who needed him.
His family and his faith meant everything to him, but so did his friends. Bubba treasured the lifelong friendships he built and loved spending time swapping stories, sharing laughs, and making memories. He also shared a special bond with his cousin, Nancy Mooney. Their relationship was built on love, loyalty, and a lifetime of shared memories, and she held a special place in his heart.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa Annette Shore; his daughters, Brittany Faith Shore-Touw and Morgan Elizabeth Shore; stepchildren Lacinda Lewis and Todd Cable; and his precious granddaughters, Jordyn Amelia Shore and Charlee Elaine Royal. He also leaves behind his faithful companions, Jazzy and his beloved Blue Heeler, Sadie Mae, who were never far from his side.
Bubba was preceded in death by his parents, Peggy Lee Reinhardt Clonch and Miles David Shore Jr.; his daughter, Ashley Amelia "Amy" Shore; and his son, Joshua Scott Shore.
Bubba's life was defined not by the miles he traveled, but by the love he gave. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his selfless service, his unwavering loyalty to his family and friends, and the joy he found in simply being home. Though he will be deeply missed, the stories he told, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave so freely will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
