David Sparks

David Gray Sparks, 77, of Roaring River, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, February 12, 2026. He was born in Wilkes County to the late Elmer Sparks and Francis Harris Sparks.

David was a member of Ronda Baptist Tabernacle Church. He proudly served in the United States Army, and he had a lifelong love of motorcycles keeping them clean, well‑maintained, and always in top shape. His family and friends will remember him for his steady presence, his loyalty, and the joy he found in the things he loved.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Martin‑Sparks, and his daughter, Alicia Weeks.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Anita Sparks; daughters Melissa Williams and Christy Hamby; brother and sister‑in‑law Donald and Faye Sparks; sisters Jenny Lyles and Judy Callaway; grandchildren Taylor Weeks, Maegan Weeks, Carlie Weeks, Harley Hayes, and Taylor Hayes; and great‑grandchildren Noah Weeks, Fallon Weeks, Diesel Williams, and Emmett Hayes. He is also survived by close friends Carol White, Grandville Goff, Clayton Goff, Jeff Hayes, and Clara Wright.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday at Elkin Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at Ronda Baptist Tabernacle Church in Ronda at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 21, 2026. Interment will follow at Ronda City Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted.
