Dixie Carter Phillips
December 24, 1931 — July 7, 2024
Dixie Carter Phillips, formerly of State Road, passed away on July 7, 2024, at Rex Hospital in Raleigh.
Dixie was born December 24, 1931, in Guilford County to Bob and Macie Carter.
She worked for Durham County Schools for many years and was a member of Cedar Fork Baptist Church. Dixie loved a good cup of coffee and, of course, Papa!! Her free time was spent knitting, sewing, and baking.
Dixie was preceded in death by her parents, sister Arnella, and husband of 66 years, Charles.
Survivors include daughter Chris (John), son Chuck (Lisa), and sister-in-law Audrey; grandchildren: Robert (Amanda), Charles (Mandy), Philip (Greyson), Hannah (Rich), Molly, Brooke, Nick, and Hailey; and ten great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, July 13, 2024, at noon at Mt Pleasant Baptist Church in State Road.
