Mr. Donald Keith Harris, 60, of Greensboro, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Beacon Place Hospice Home in Greensboro.
Born on July 17, 1965, in Surry County, Keith was the son of Donald “Dane” Harris and Geraldine “Geri” Byrd Harris.
Throughout his life, Keith was an active member of his community. He found faith and fellowship at New Life Family Church, and his spirit was evident in his involvement with the Arc of High Point and the Greensboro Parks and Recreation Center. Keith's determination and joy for life shone brightest through his participation in the Special Olympics, notably achieving fifth place in bowling at the World Special Olympics—an accomplishment that brought pride to his family and community.
He is survived by his mother, Geraldine “Geri” Harris of Greensboro; his father, Donald “Dane” Harris and wife Margaret of Birmingham, AL; his brother Brian Harris and wife Ashley of Greensboro; his sister Blaine Owens and husband Tom; and a host of loving nieces and nephews: Kestyn Harris, Chandler Harris, Kendall Harris, Remi Owens, Eden Owens, and William Owens.
A memorial service to celebrate Keith's life will take place on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at Bridge of Hope Church, 4104 Short Farm Road, Greensboro, NC 27407.
A graveside service to honor Keith’s life will be held on Sunday, 3:00 p.m., August 3, 2025, at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Norman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to organizations close to Keith’s heart: Special Olympics of North Carolina, 2200 Gateway Centre Building, Suite 201, Mooresville, NC 27560, or The Arc of High Point, Attn: Stephanie Antkowiak, 153 Bellevue Dr., High Point, NC 27265.
