Dorothy J Simmons

Mrs. Dorothy Lee Johnson Simmons, age 93, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023 at PruittHealth in Elkin.

Mrs. Simmons was born November 9, 1929 in Surry County to John E. Johnson and Ida Irvin Johnson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God in Jonesville.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by husband, Rev. Odell Simmons and sons, Ronnie Simmons and Johnny Simmons.

Survivors include: grandson Robert Simmons and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Hudson and Rev. Randall Money officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in State Road. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
