Mrs. Elizabeth Medley Youngquist, 87, of Thurmond, NC, passed quietly in her home on May 17, 2025. Elizabeth married Frank Youngquist in 1957 and became a military wife. She was the mother of six children, grandmother of seven, and a great-grandmother of three.

Elizabeth had many passions in life. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, canning, and puzzles. She was an avid reader and loved nature and all God's creations. Her greatest passion in life was her family. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Her favorite times were family gatherings, where she enjoyed having her children and grandchildren all together. She will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Garland and Margaret Doss Medley, husband Frank Youngquist; nine siblings: J.C. Medley, Marie Owens, Samantha Collins, Peggy Collins, Sarah Blackburn, Norman Medley, John Medley, James Medley, and Margie Trivette; great-grandchild, Junior Burcham.

She is survived by her two sisters, Rosa Weaver and Sadie Bauguess, and six children: James Youngquist, Myra Slaydon and husband Scott, Myrna Blevins and husband Keith, Carl Youngquist and wife Sandy, Michele Youngquist, and Erik Youngquist and wife Sherry; grandchildren, Amanda Flippin, Sherrie Schlaht and husband Colby, Ryan Blevins and Jordan Church, Nathan Handy and wife Lauren, Dillon Youngquist, Daniel Burcham and wife Caitlin, Wes Youngquist; great-grandchildren, Luke Handy, Natalie Handy and Everly Schlaht.
