Mr. Ernnie “Clay” Holloway, age 77, of Traphill, passed away Monday, January 20, 2025, at Wilkes Health and Rehabilitation in Wilkesboro.
Clay was born February 25, 1947, in Wilkes County to Rayvon and Texie Holloway. He was a member of Oak Level Baptist Church, where he had served as a Deacon. Clay enjoyed walking at Stone Mountain Park and hunting. He also liked eating out on Sundays after church. He loved his family and his grandchildren. We are grateful for his life and the memories he leaves behind.
In addition to his parents, Clay was preceded in death by a brother, RV “Zip” Holloway.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Holloway, of the home; sons Ernie Holloway and wife Karen and Marty Holloway and wife Tamara; grandchildren Alecia Brown and husband Dalton, Adam Holloway, Matthew Holloway, Brandon Holloway, and Faith Holloway; great-grandchildren Aaron Brown and Ashlynn Brown; sisters Virginia Hincher and Rosi Sidden; and brother Richard Holloway.
A funeral service will be held Friday, January 24, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Level Baptist Church, with Rev. Keith Wood and Rev. James Hall officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. before the service.
Flowers will be accepted. The family would like to thank Wilkes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Mountian Valley Hospice for their excellent care and support of Clay and the family.
