Mr. Gilbert Melton Anthony, Jr., age 79, of Charlotte passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at The Retreat of Gaffney in Gaffney, SC. Mr. Anthony was born September 1, 1942 in Baltimore, MD to Gilbert M. Anthony, Sr. and Opal Church Anthony.

Mr. Anthony was a United States Army veteran and retired from SunTrust Mortgage. He was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Anthony was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Anthony is survived by his brother, Michael L. Anthony of Charlotte and several cousins.

A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Dr. Bill Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
