Jake Burcham

Mr. Jacob “Jake” David Burcham, age 93, of State Road passed away Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Yadkin Nursing Center. Mr. Burcham was born November 22, 1929 in Wilkes County to James Burcham and Ada Key Burcham. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and retired from Pepsi Co. Mr. Burcham was a veteran of the US Army. He was a jack of all trades and had superior carpentry and mechanical skills. Mr. Burcham enjoyed bluegrass music and was gifted having the ability to play several instruments. He was loved and respected by all.

In addition to his parents Mr. Burcham was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Caudle Burcham; brother, Jimmy Lee Burcham and sister, Janet Burcham Wagoner.

Survivors include: son, Mark Wayne Burcham and his wife Kristie of State Road; daughters, Pamela Burcham McLean and her husband Mike of State Road and Kay Burcham Trivette and her husband Larry of Jonesville; grandchildren, Faith Trivette, Lydia Burcham Haynes and her husband Jeffery and James Burcham; great granddaughter, Eleanor Haynes and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Trivette, Rev. John Newton and Rev. Kevin Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
