James M Burchette

James Matthew Burchette, age 92 passed away peacefully on July 22, 2025, at the Kate Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston Salem. Born in Wilkes County, James was the son of the late Charlie Burchette and Nettie Mickel Burchette.

A skilled construction worker by trade, James took great pride in his work and the strength it demanded. He was a devoted member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses of Sparta. James found joy in in hunting and archery.

In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his sisters Verlie Mae Hodge and Electa Collins; and five brothers.

James is survived by his beloved wife, Virginia Billings Burchette; daughters Marie Rogers and Jackie Xeinakis; sisters Eva Coins Davis and Flora Caudle.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Sparta.
