Rev. James Claude Hall, Jr., age 77, of Thurmond passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital.
Rev. Hall was born on November 23, 1948, in Caswell County, NC, to James Claude and Augusta Caroline Carrico Hall, Sr.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife Shirley Hall of the home, two sons, Darrell Hall and wife Shannon of Thurmond and Rodney Hall and wife Tosha of Thurmond, a daughter, Pam Byrd and husband Scott of Roaring River, two brothers, Wayne Hall and wife Carolyn of State Road and Richard Hall of Thurmond, four sisters, Lois Wiles of Thurmond, Helen Holbrook of Thurmond, Wanda Spicer and husband Jerry of State Road and Linda Hayes of State Road, four grandchildren Meagan Bledsoe and husband Junior, Colton Hall, Callie Hall, and Maggie Hall, and a great granddaughter Brynlee Bledsoe, along with many nieces and nephews.
Rev. Hall was a person of tremendous faith and pursued his true love to preach the gospel. He pastored Faith Baptist Church, Oak Level Baptist Church, and Gid Branch Baptist Church. He was a family man in every sense of the word and enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 2:00 pm, at Faith Baptist Church with the Reverends Jim Miles, Matthew Higgins, and Tyler Hall officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery following the service. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 pm prior to the service.
