Jerry Reece Barker

Jerry Reece Barker, age 79, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2026, at his home in Ronda.

Jerry was born on November 17, 1946, in Surry County to Olin and Grace Soots Barker.

Jerry served God with his heart, mind, and soul as a pastor and was a missionary for the past 26 years.

In addition to his parents Jerry was preceded in death by a brother Larry Barker, and three sisters, Patsy Call, Linda Staley and Alice Darnell.

Survivors include: His wife, Janie Barker of the home; two sons, Andy Barker and wife Tonya of Wilkesboro, Aaron Barker and wife Lori of Roaring River, one daughter Cindy Harrelson and husband David of Elkin; a brother Rev. Allen Barker and wife Jan of Boonville; a sister Janie McCann and husband Wayne of Roaring River; ten grandchildren Benjamin Barker, Joseph Barker, Zach Barker, Seth Barker, Christian Barker, Jordan Harrelson and wife Stephanie, Joshua Harrelson and wife Chloe, Jacob Harrelson and wife Cassie, Timothy Barker and wife Elizabeth, and Levi Barker; and five great grandchildren, Noah Harrelson, Skylar Harrelson, Makenna Harrelson, Colton Harrelson and Ally Barker.

A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Fall Creek Baptist Church with Dr. Don Hudson, Rev. Aaron Barker, Rev. David Harrelson, and Rev. Allen Barker officiating. Interment will follow the service in Fall Creek Batist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 PM.
