Jimmy S. Southard

Mr. Jimmy Sebastian Southard, age 84, of Elkin passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022 at The Citadel at Winston Salem. Mr. Southard was born November 4, 1937 in Surry County to Sebastian Cabot Southard and Loree Hemmings Southard.

Mr. Southard was a member of Bessie’s Chapel Baptist Church and a retired carpenter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jeffery Southard; grandson, Ben Williford; and brother, Dixie "Dickie" Daniel Southard.

Survivors include: his sons, Dean Southard and his wife Teresa of Yadkinville, Jason Southard of Yadkinville; daughters, Melinda Williford and her husband Daniel of Charlotte, Kristy Ann Southard of Winston-Salem; sister, Diane Slawter and her husband Larry of Elkin; sister-in-law, Linda Southard of Elkin; grandchildren, Bradley Williford, Shane Southard, Joshlyn Eller, and Jeremiah Eller.

A graveside service will be conducted Friday, March 18, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Bessie’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Lenuel Lusk officiating.
