Steve Blackburn

Joel Steven Blackburn, age 83 of Elkin, passed away Thursday, February 27th, 2025.

Steve was a Godly man and a member of Elkin Valley Baptist Church. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed walking at the Elkin & Alleghany Rail Trail. Steve was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey C. and Lucille Vestal Blackburn; and sister, Judy Evans.

He is survived by his wife of 61 plus years, Juanita Finney Blackburn; daughter and son-in-law, Tracey and Webster Long; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Dedie Blackburn; grandchildren, Abbey Long, Emily Long, Elijah Blackburn, and Angelica Blackburn; great-grandchildren, Isabella Long, Kamden Long, and Lucas Long; and a sister, Doris Judd.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In Lieu of Flowers, memorials can be made to Elkin Valley Baptist Church.
