John M. Hall, Jr.

Mr. John Moir Hall, Jr., age 73, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Accordius Health at Wilkesboro.  Mr. Hall was born July 5, 1949 to Dr. John M Hall, Sr. and Frances Hall.

John was a member of First United Methodist Church of Elkin and was a veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam.  He attended Pfeifer College and earned his BA in Psychology from Argosy University in Orange County, CA. He was passionate about fly fishing and tied his own flies. John was the Executive Director of the Foothills Arts Council and himself was an artist, talented in painting, sketching and drawing.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by wife, Linda Hall.

Survivors include: his wife of 16 years, Colleen R. Hall of the home; step-son, Zeke Reece and his wife Diane of Boonville; step-daughters, Melanie St. John and her husband Kenneth of Clemmons, Jordan Sowers of Elkin, Meredith Clark of Dallas, TX and Tenna Layell and her husband Danny of Boonville; brother, Henry Hall of Tallahassee, FL; niece, Moriah Ayiana Hall; step-grandchildren, Jackson Sowers, Caroline Sowers, Alli Money, Garrett Layell and Cori Kelly.

A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Howard Fleming officiating. Interment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery at a later date.
