Joyce Wright

Mrs. Joyce Ann Brown Wright, age 65, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2026 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Wright was born April 19, 1960 in Surry County to Walter T. Welborn and Joyce Viola Hemric.

Mrs. Wright was a member of Swaims Baptist Church and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Theron T. Welborn; step-son, Calvin Wright, Jr. and granddaughter, Mercedes Wright.

Survivors include: her husband, Calvin Wright of Jonesville; sisters, Regina Adkins of Jonesville and Cheryl Hutchens and husband Joe of Hamptonville; grandson, Houston Wright; great-grandchildren, Keyana Martin and Kamden Wright; nephews, Matthew Whitaker and Andrew Hutchens and wife Katlyn; niece, Destiny Potts and fiancé Chase Barker; great-niece, Norah Sizemore.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Swaims Baptist Church with Rev. Gordon Macemore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
