Kelly Freeman Greer

Kelly Freeman Greer, age 48, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2023 at her residence in Elkin.  Kelly was born May 16, 1974 in Surry County to Rick and Joyce Walls Freeman.

Kelly graduated from Elkin High School Class of 1992 and Surry Community College . She attended Lees McRae College . She was known as a giving and loving person. Family meant everything to Kelly and she had been much help to her disabled parents. Her family is grateful for the blessing of her life. She will live forever in the hearts of those that knew her.  Kelly's faith in Christ promises us that this is a temporary goodbye and we will see her again one day.

Kelly was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charlie and DeWitt Freeman, and Thomas F (Sonny) Walls; and her former husband, Paul Robert Greer, Jr.

Survivors include her father and mother, Rick and Joyce Freeman; her grandmother, Mittie Walls; her aunt and uncle, Kathy and Dana Spillman, her uncle and aunt, Tommy and Tina Walls; and her two first cousins, Dara Spillman Waddell and Andrea Spillman Wall.

A private memorial service for family and close friends will be held at Elkin Funeral Service chapel on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at 4:00 pm with Rev. Mike Hall officiating.  Family will receive friends beginning at 3:00 pm before the service. Interment following the service at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to The Epilepsy Foundation of North Carolina, 1920 W. First St., Winston Salem, NC 27104; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
