Linda Lee Dyce Salley, age 78, of Southport, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 22, 2026.
Mrs. Salley was born March 8, 1948, in Tacoma, Washington, to Phidelma Frances and Clyde Dyce, Linda grew up with a deep love for learning and people. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and attended Pacific Lutheran University.
Linda was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Elkin Valley Baptist church and served faithfully as church secretary there for many years. She also loved working with the youth and taking groups to Fort Caswell each year.
After marrying her beloved husband, Lavorn Salley, Linda made her home in Elkin, North Carolina. Following retirement, they moved to Southport. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and a devoted member of Beach Road Baptist Church and deeply loved her small group of ladies.
Linda’s family was her greatest joy. She treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren, and a great-grandchild, delighting in their accomplishments and the laughter they shared together. She also loved reading books and her cup of coffee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larvorn Salley.
Linda is survived by her four children, Shannon Clark and husband Adam, Amy Southerland and husband Mark, Theresa Bowling and husband Bradley, and Ryan Salley wife Olivia; several grandchildren Gracie Black and husband Branson, Kyle Bowling, McKenzie Anderson and husband Clark, Charleston Southerland, John Clark, Josiah Clark and Addison Poppy Salley; and her great-grandchild, Koveur Hollis Black. Each of them will carry her legacy of love, faith, and devotion.
A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Elkin Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Blevins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Elkin Valley Baptist Church Cemetery.
