Linda Martin Winebarger was born December 17, 1950, in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. She passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2025.
Linda grew up in Millers Creek, North Carolina, and graduated from West Wilkes High School. She earned a nursing degree from Wilkes Community College and enjoyed working as a nurse before having her children.
Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She and her husband, William, raised their children in Elkin, North Carolina. Linda’s children, Tasha and Chad, and grandchildren, Will, Lily, Grace, and Evan, were the light of her life. One of her greatest joys was watching all of them play tennis. While Linda and her husband never moved from Elkin, they purchased a home in Charlotte, and she delighted in spending almost every Saturday and Sunday with her grandchildren in Charlotte. Linda also loved and cared for her miniature schnauzers, first Duke and then Prince.
Linda used her training in nursing to care for many people throughout her life, and her lifelong Christian faith guided her.
Linda was heartbroken when she was preceded in death by her beloved son Chad in 2025. She is survived by her husband, William; her daughter, Tasha, son-in-law, Tim, and their twin daughters, Lily and Grace; her daughter-in-law, Deepa, and Chad and Deepa’s sons, Will and Evan; and her stepson, Scott, daughter-in-law, Annette, and their daughter, Annika, and son-in-law, Joseph.
A service to honor Linda’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, NC, 593 Pleasant Hill Dr., Elkin, NC 28621.
