Linville Philmore Couch

Linville Philmore "Phil" Couch , age 87, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2026 , at Westwood Hills Nursing and Rehab Center in Wilkesboro, NC.

He was predeceased by his parents, Linville and Faye Couch, a son, James Edward Couch, a brother, Eddie Couch, a brother-in-law, Frank Becker, and a step-son, Jerry Gilchrist; his wives, Ann Eugin Couch, Joyce Gilchirst Couch, and Betty Hefner Couch. He is survived by sisters: Lena Baynes (Lacy) and Judy Becker; brother, Freddie Couch (Peggy), grandson, Jesse Couch (Sarah) and great-grandson, Elias Couch, and special nieces and nephews.

Phil was a 1957 graduate of Elkin High School. After serving eight years in the US Air Force, he worked as a communication technician in the Charlotte/Hickory area.

A celebration of Phil's life will be conducted in the Elkin Funeral Service Chapel on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

There will be a private inurnment at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers his family requests memorial gifts be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017 or a charity of your choice.
