Mrs. Lola Settle Prevette, age 73, passed away Monday, October 2, 2023 at her residence in Ronda.
Mrs. Prevette was born August 3, 1950 in Surry County to Lawrence Clifton Settle and Bessie Absher Settle. Lola was a member of Christian Home Baptist Church. Mrs. Prevette was an avid flower gardener and photographer. She enjoyed poetry, baking and quilting. She was a very proud Military spouse. She was a proud homemaker, a loving mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Prevette was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Settle Smith and brothers, Dale Settle, Keith Settle, Curtis Settle and Leon Settle.
Survivors include: her husband, Nathan Prevette of the home; sons, Jonathan Wayne Prevette of Ronda, Bobby Christopher Prevette of Winston Salem; daughters and son-in-law, Saundra Neely and husband Mark of Jonesville, Merienda Jackson of Hickory; brothers, Harley Settle, John Settle; sister, Linda Holleman; grandchildren, Nathan Neely (Laura), Lola Neely, Kayla Felts, Darryl Neely, Lauren Cockerham, Daniel Prevette, Anslee Prevette, Tyra Jones, Emily Prevette, Sylvia Prevette; great grandchildren, Julian Brown, Jaidyn Brown, Jordyn Brown, Addison Neely, Cole Scott, Austin Neely, Junior Culbreth, Grayson Neely, Carter Jones, Grayson Jones and Adalynn Thomas.
A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Mount Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Dwayne Lankford and Rev. Bobby Prevette officiating. Mrs. Prevette will lie-in-state at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 3, 2023 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
