Lucky Steve Wilmoth

Lucky Steve Wilmoth, age 83, of Elkin, passed away Friday, July 24, 2026, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.

Lucky was born April 10th, 1943, in Baltimore, MD to Charles Sr. and Mary Ann Hayes Wilmoth.

Mr. Wilmoth was a man of many talents. He loved to golf, was a skilled craftsman, but his greatest passions were church and his family.

Lucky was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Joey Wilmoth, an infant daughter, Mae Wilmoth, and a brother Charles Wilmoth Jr.

Survivors include: his wife of 65 years Reba Wilmoth of the home; children: Sherry Combs of Jonesville, Phillip Wilmoth and Wife Michelle of Statesville, Travis Wilmoth and wife Jera of Mount Airy; a brother David Wilmoth and wife Barbara of South Carolina; sisters: Helen Johnson of Winston-Salem, Nancy Prevette and husband Bobby of Elkin, Betty Jo Isaacs of Elkin, and Patricia Wiseman, Florida; sisters-in-law Carol Higgins and husband Dale, Joyce Williams and husband Johnny, and Doris Hobson and husband Frank; grandchildren, Stephen Rutledge and wife Amy, Teresa Childress and Husband Kelly, Stacy Byrant and husband Shane, Tracy Swaim and Husband Josh and Aubrey Wilmoth; a host of great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel, Tuesday, July 28th, 2026 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Anthony Thomas and Rev. Travis Wilmoth officiating. Interment will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens in State Road, NC.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 27th, 2026 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Elkin Funeral Service.
