Mrs. Margaret Holcomb Jordan, age 91, peacefully passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025, at her beloved home in Roaring River. Born on September 23, 1933, in Iredell County, Margaret was the cherished daughter of Kirkman and Cora Daniel Holcomb.
Margaret’s life was defined by faith, family, and unwavering kindness. A devoted member of Pleasant Home Baptist Church, she embodied the values of love and generosity, touching countless lives with her warmth and grace. She was a homemaker with a gift for cooking, filling her home with warmth and the comforting aroma of meals made with love. She found great joy in attending church, where her faith was strengthened and shared. As a supportive pastor’s wife, mother, and grandmother, Margaret embraced her family and community with unconditional love, treating everyone with the same kindness and grace.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Kirkman and Cora Daniel Holcomb; her brothers, Martin Holcomb, Bobby Holcomb, Elmer Holcomb, Robert Holcomb, and Walter Holcomb; and her dear sister, Dessie Cheek.
Margaret’s memory will live on in the hearts of her devoted husband, Rev. Kenneth Jordan; her son, Phillip K. Jordan and wife Donna of Roaring River; her daughters, Sandra Groce and husband Sam of Stevenson AL, and Dinah Chipman and husband Travis of Roaring River. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Megan Pruett and husband Jason, Jessica Timm and Husband David, Matthew Groce, Andrea Groce-Wear and husband JW, and Jacob Chipman, as well as her cherished great-grandchildren: Jordyn Whiteaker, Quentin Pruett, Ava Timm, Austin Felts. Great-Great Grandchildren Addison Felts, and Hayden Felts.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 19, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Home. A funeral service to celebrate Margaret’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Elkin Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Travis Chipman and Rev. Dwayne Lankford. Interment will follow at Pleasant Home Baptist Church cemetery.
