Marie Mickel Rogers

Marie Mickel Rogers, 91, of Yadkinville, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Yadkin Nursing Center after a long and love-filled life. Born in Surry County on November 21, 1934, she was the daughter of the late William and Ruth Burchette Mickel.

Marie was a dedicated member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and served for many years on the food committee. She loved cooking and preparing wonderful meals for family and friends, enjoyed crafting, and had a deep affection for her animals.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack Rogers, her son Al Rogers, and five siblings.

Marie is survived by her son Jeff Rogers and daughter-in-law Joan Wagoner, as well as five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several cherished nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Dodds officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., prior to the service.

The family would also like to express their gratitude to the staff at Yadkin Nursing Center for the compassionate care provided to Marie over the past several years.
