Mary Jane Prevette

Mary Jane Prevette, of Winston‑Salem, NC, passed away on February 5, 2026. She is survived by her brother, Roy Lee Prevette and his wife Sharon; her sister, Kim Caballero and her husband Herman; as well as her beloved nieces, nephews, and grand‑nieces and grand‑nephews.

Mary Jane was born on May 14, 1940, in Elkin, NC, to the late Roy and Ola Jean Prevette. A series of early health challenges led doctors to expect a shorter life span, yet she lived with gratitude and resilience. A lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Elkin, she often thanked God for her many years and the blessings she experienced along the way.

She spent her career at Baptist Hospital, where her kindness and bright spirit brought sunshine to everyone around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Elkin on Saturday, February 21 at 3:00PM.
