August 5, 1943 — August 19, 2024
Mary Ellen Reavis Layell, age 81, of Hamptonville, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston Salem.
Ms. Layell was preceded in death by son, Marty Layell. Mary enjoyed sewing, cooking, flower gardening, and making arrangements with the flowers she lovingly grew.
She is survived by a son, Christopher Layell of Hamptonville, a brother, Gurney Reavis and wife Kay of State Road, a sister, Alice Byrd and husband Bobby of Mount Airy, and a granddaughter, Baleigh Layell.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
