Mrs. Mazie Jo “Polly” Martin Masten, age 84, passed away peacefully Monday, December 22, 2025 at her residence. Polly was born August 3, 1941 in Yadkin County to Paul Fitchue and Mazie Sturgill Martin.
Mrs. Masten was a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family and helping run the family business, Arlington Meat Processing (Foothills Meat Center).
In addition to her parents, Polly was preceded in death by her husband, Worth Masten; grandson, Richard Tulbert, and brother, Paul Gray Martin.
Survivors include: son, Thomas Franklin Masten and wife Kim of Hamptonville; daughters, Mary Tulbert & Avery Wooten of Union Grove and Callie Masten of Winston Salem; grandchildren, Mary Ellen Tulbert, Maggie Phillips and husband Brandon, Rebecca Oliver and husband Garrett and Pierson Worth Colbert; great-grandchildren, Ryan Tulbert and Anna Neal, Cory Phillips, Katie Phillips, Ellie Rose Phillips and Thomas Oliver.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 26, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Fall Creek Baptist Church with Dr. Don Hudson and Dr. Steve Fowler officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Crossnore Children’s Home, 1001 Reynolda Road, Winston Salem, NC 27104.
