Michael Walters

Michael Dean Walters, born on July 19, 1963, in Yadkin County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at Woltz Hospice Home on Sunday, April 27, 2025. Michael was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, Raymond and Mildred Bryant.

A devoted member of Sparta Church of God in Sparta, North Carolina, Michael enjoyed attending services and spending time with his pastor, Doug. His faith was an integral part of his life, bringing him comfort and community.

Michael was a man of many talents and interests. He was an exceptional fisherman who relished the peace and adventure found on the water. He also enjoyed rebuilding computers, model cars, and airplanes, showcasing his skill and creativity. These activities reflected his meticulous nature and passion for hands-on projects.

Michael is survived by his significant other of 32 years, Misty Combs; his sons, Matthew Walters (Natasha), Trey Walters (Mikhala), and Michael Walters (Brittany); sisters Lisa McQueen and Brenda Groce; and grandchildren Callie, Ryder, Raidyn, Bodhi, and Kellyn, who brought immense joy and light to his life. Above all, Michael’s heart held a special place for his furbabies, Rayne and Kira, who were his constant companions and a source of unconditional love.

A celebration of life will be held at the home of Michael and Misty on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., with Rev. Doug Combs officiating.
