Myrtle Ball Settle

Myrtle Ball Settle, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital on Saturday, May 17, 2025. She was surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 6, 1936, in Buchanan County, Virginia, to James Harvey Ball and Maxine Lowe Ball.

Myrtle had a passion for sewing, creating beautiful pieces with skill and care. She found great joy in outdoor activities and cherished time spent in nature. She was also known for her exceptional culinary talents, preparing meals that brought family and friends together. Her devotion to her community and church was evident in her active participation and unwavering kindness to those in need.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ray Settle; her brothers, Roy Ball, Cleveland Ball, and Ernest Ball; and her sisters, Nola Ball Comer and Harlas Rasnake.

Myrtle leaves behind a loving legacy through her son, Allen Settle, and his wife, Crystal Settle; and her cherished granddaughter, Josie Settle.

Funeral Service will be held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 1:00 PM, with Dr. Danny Dodds officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
