Patty Sue Shores

Patty Johnson Shores, age 90, passed away at Forsyth Medical Center on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. She was born in Surry County on November 22, 1933, to Berry Martin Johnson and Vina Edwards Johnson.
Patty was a retired Nurse after spending several years at San Jose Hospital in California; she was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and Women of Missions.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Grey Shores; brothers Rev. Roy Johnson, Sidney Johnson, Edward Johnson, John Lee Johnson, Mack Johnson, and Oscar Johnson; sisters Helen Johnson Woodruff, Fay Johnson Edwards, Bethel Johnson, Ruby Johnson, and Betty Johnson Sutphin.
Survivors include son James Dean Shores and wife Virginia of State Road; daughter Kathy Shores Skywalker and husband Dan of State Road; sister Ruth Irvin Berry of Advance, NC; grandchildren Jonathan Stefanini and wife Jessica, Daryl  Dean Shores and wife Jenna, Travis Westley Shores; great-grandchildren Inara Jade Stefanini, Enola Stefanini, Aiden Sevigny, Lanae Sevigny, Nora Jay Shores, Ella Jean Shores, and Harrison Dean Shores.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at 3:00 p.m., at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, with Rev. Dylan Cook officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The Shores family will receive friends at the church from 2:00-3:00 p.m.
