Peggy Crouse

Mrs. Peggy Jo Southard Crouse, age 82, of Thurmond passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Crouse was born June 29, 1939 in Surry County to Spurgeon and Alma Stanley Southard.

Mrs. Crouse was a member of Roaring Gap Baptist Church and owner of Foothills Grocery. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Burton Crouse; daughter, Carla Cain; sister, Sandra Southard; and brother, Algeron Southard.

Survivors include: her daughter, Teresa Tuttle of Traphill; brother, Windell “Windy” Southard and his wife Kaye of Elkin; aunt, Betty Jean Flinchum of Elkin of Elkin; grandchildren, Jennifer Hudspeth and her husband Neil, Justin Billings; great-grandchildren, Maggie Hudspeth, Allie Hudspeth, Sydnie Hudspeth, and Cassidee Billings.

A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Roaring Gap Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Richard Hackler officiating.
