Peggy Sue Toney

Mrs. Peggy Sue Toney, age 57, passed away Monday, June 8, 2026 at her residence. Peggy was born December 30, 1968 in Oak Hill, West Virginia to Lloyd Calvin and Cynthia Ann Yaroboro Toney.

Mrs. Toney enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and reading her Bible. She also enjoyed planting flowers and crocheting.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brothers, James Toney, Letty Toney, Clayton Toney and special niece, Deanna Lynn Toney.

Survivors include: her son Kevin James and wife Jordan of State Road; daughter, Casey Kennedy and husband Patrick of Elkin; brothers, Lloyd Toney, Jr. and wife Cherie of Mt. Airy, William Toney and wife Lisa of Texas, Michael Toney and wife Cindy of Mt. Airy, Thomas Toney of West Virginia, Everette Toney of Hamptonville and Marion Toney and wife Deima of Jonesville; sisters, Lille Cook of West Virginia and Vivian Layne and husband Bruce of West Virginia; grandchildren, Ayla Kennedy, Jayda Kennedy, Kade Kennedy, Colton Martin, Ryker James, Rosslyn James and Kaisen James; special niece, Stephanie Toney and husband David; host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 12, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Edward Graham and Rev. Todd Williams. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens. She will lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, P.O. Box 325, Dobson, NC 27017 or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN, 38105.

The family would like to thank Rev. Edward Graham and Rev. Todd Williams for helping with the service. They would also like to thank Dr. Albright and Melissa Bryant for their love and care.
